How To Make $84,000 A Year With Google Career Certificates

for the last 50 years if you wanted a good job or career with all the perks and benefits you would be enticed to go to college and get a degree in the field of which you are pursuing but google they're disrupting the industry Google’s saying no no no you don't need no degree you don't need that classroom experience what you need is real skills real-life experience in that field you are pursuing so google decided to take matters into their own hands and start their own education system all hosted online for a fraction of the cost where you at the end will get a certificate showing that you know what you're doing that you've had experience in that field and that you are ready for a career in that field now there are upsides and downsides to google's career certification program but before we get into all that and how you can get started make sure if you're new here you hit that red subscribe button and click that little bell for good measure google career certificates learn job ready skills to start or advance your career in high demand fields these certificates developed by Google connect you to top national employers who are hiring for certain roles but why should you get a certificate with Google and why is google doing this at all and the answer is quite simple the cost of college in the united states has skyrocketed in the last 50 years if we look at this graph right here the green is the cost of living now.

obviously, the cost of living gradually increases over time because more and more things become obviously more expensive now the yellow is medical expenses obviously that's going to increase as well, unfortunately, we haven't got the health

figured out in this world especially when it comes to the united states and if we look at the orange right here this is college and tuition fees which is just skyrocketing way above the actual cost of living and if we look at this graph it shows the cost of public-private and all schools when it comes to the cost of college tuition and for the most part public stayed pretty stagnant for the first 20 years and then it started to gradually climb while private schools just took off and started climbing at a rapid rate  now the reason for this climb is in the 1980s the u.s enrollment was about 53 and in 2012 it climbed up to 94 and due to the growth of people attending college that it contributed to the growth of college cost as well and since the federal government got involved making it easier to get student loans it's actually increased the student loan debt to 1.6 trillion dollars as of June 2019 and a lot of people still are dealing with student loan debt today Google is trying to replace college degrees with six month certifications now six months is not a lot of time usually to get a degree

in college it takes two-four even six even eight years unless of course you're going for a doctorate or a master's degree even longer now obviously you're not getting a master's degree or a master certificate with google however, they are giving you the skills and the experience to become more appealing to employers because most employers don't really care how much time you sat in a classroom they want to know more so how much experience do you have but six months is not a lot of time and they're not trying to charge you an arm and a lane for the certification for the education for the experience and the skills that they're going to teach you in fact it's estimated that it's going to be about 300 per certificate that you receive from Google career certifications if that sounds appealing to you let's just walk through it together if you open up Google and type in Google career certificates this page should be the first one that pops up and if you scroll down just a little bit they're introducing their career certificates now these three that I'm about to show you are coming soon at the time of this video they are not currently available but they will be coming out very soon now the first one is a data analyst data analysts make and use data to help inform important business decisions they prepare process and analyze data for key insights share their findings with stakeholders and provide data-driven recommendations for effective action basically, you're a glorified hoarder of data you're basically looking at all the data to see what areas need to be improved and what areas need to be cut that are just a waste of time and money now as a data analyst the median annual wage for data analysts is 66 000 per year that you can get with this certificate which on average these certificates are only going to take about six months to complete now the next one would be a project manager project managers are responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed efficiently with maximum quality and value-added to the business now the median annual wage for project managers is 61000. now what's interesting is I was on this page about a month ago and the price has already dropped now the question is that because there are not a lot of businesses looking for project managers or are they looking for somebody with more specific skill sets that then can turn into a project manager not learning how to be a project manager from the get-go and then my favorite is UX designer UX designer stands for user experience designer making technology easier and more enjoyable to use they create or refine products and interfaces to make them useful usable and accessible to users basically have you ever gone on Instagram or NetFlix or whatever and thought man i wish there was a button to do this it would be so much easier to navigate that's what ux designers do they make it easier for you the user to navigate through their system through their platform through essentially the funnel that you're being brought into whether it's a

sales pitch or whether it's just a social media system that you're on the user experience designers do a lot more than just software but if you do decide to jump into this space the median annual wage is 84000 per year now like I said these three are not available right now however if you scroll a little bit further you can actually become it, specialist, right here right now with a Google career the certificate now it support specialist is all about troubleshooting and problem-solving when technology fails us and providing great customer service along the way specialists support everything

from networking to operating systems and system administration to security in the workspace it's not a hard job it's actually kind of boring in my experience from people that I’ve talked to and it's not the most fulfilling work but it's super easy

and as of the results right now 80 of learners who use their it support certificate has reported a career impact within six months meaning they found a new job they got a raise or they just started their own business as an i.t support specialist now the median wage is 56000 for this career now all you have to do is click right here explore it support certificate and it's going to pull up this page right here basically giving you an overview of what the job is and how it works and then it offers you to get started right here now this is a one week trial then it comes to 49 per month there are grants and scholarships available but what's interesting is this is hosted on courier now the question is google actually trying to help you get careers with a google certificate or are they just trying to make money off you from their Coursera platform which teaches you different business skills now I'm not saying corsair is a waste of

money or time they are trying to cut the amount of time and amount of money it costs you to learn a new skill set but are they actually trying to help you are they just trying to profit off you down the road like I said at At the beginning of this video there are upsides and there are downsides to google career certifications the upsides you're learning a new skill cheap and fast and you're getting the actual experience the real-life experience of that specific field and not to mention at the end of it you're getting a google certificate now that can be very appealing that could actually be leveraged on your resume or on your portfolio for future jobs down the road the downside could be hundreds of thousands if not millions of people all applying for google career certifications which means that little certificate that you have from google is not as valuable now because everybody has it and with more and more people with google certificates in that specific field it's going to saturate the market which makes it harder for you to get the job or even worse causes the average salary of that field to go down let me explain it this way if there's a job opening and there are only three people that are qualified for that job you have three people to pick from but if the number of people that are qualified go from three to fifty you have a lot more people to choose from and you could pick either based on a skill or what most employers are gonna do is pace based off of salary which means whoever takes the biggest pay cut, they're more likely gonna get hired on top of that one of the certifications google offers is project manager, now I don't know about you but if I'm hiring a project manager for my work I want that person to be experienced in the field that I'm working in to manage the project I don't want them to be a professional at managing projects I want them to know exactly the ins and outs of what I'm doing so they can properly manage to have a project manager that is not experienced in this field not necessarily the field of being a project manager but in this particular field let's say social media or let's say affiliate marketing they're not really going to know what to do so I don't know what are your thoughts do you think google career certifications are worth it do you think it's going to help the marketplace or hurt the market place destroy the education system for me i believe the education system has needed to

reform for a long time because the cost has continued to go up but the value has pretty much stayed the exact same I’m not saying that we need to completely overhaul education I think it's needed especially for careers like engineers doctors and lawyers you wouldn't want to go to the doctor' so office to find that they got their

doctorate degree from a course from udemy or somewhere online you would want them to have a legit degree from a respected legitimate university but overall I think it's best if you learn specific knowledge or a specific skill that can't be taught overnight that can't be taught on a massive scale that gives you more value that gives you more leverage and gives you the ability to actually, get hired on specific jobs for salaries that you can negotiate not be held hostage to as for Google career certificates I think it's going to be interesting to see things moving forward and how it's going to disrupt and change the education system but I am curious about your thoughts to comment down below do you think this is going to be good do you think this is going to be bad what are your thoughts I'm really curious to know let's get some of the dialogue going because I'm curious myself as to whether this is going to be beneficial or if this is going to be some very very damaging stuff down the road I hope i was able to help.
